What to know about choosing steel panels, planning your material order, and working with our shop.

Our standard Smart Rib Plus panel is manufactured using 29-gauge high-tensile prime structural steel. Because of its 3/4" major rib height spaced every 9 inches on-center, it provides excellent structural stiffness. Combined with standard 1x4 purlin framing spaced 24 inches on-center, it easily handles Western Pennsylvania's snow and ice loads without deflection. 26-gauge steel is also available upon custom request.

We roll-form every single panel to your exact specifications down to the fractional inch. You do not need to buy pre-cut 10-foot or 12-foot stock panels and waste material. Custom cutting saves labor time, prevents cut-edge corrosion, and reduces waste on your site.

Our panels are coated with the Sherwin-Williams WeatherXL Silicone-Modified Polyester (SMP) paint system, backed by a 40-Year Limited Manufacturer Warranty. It offers excellent resistance to chalking, fading, peeling, and edge rust.

Metal roofs cool quickly at night, causing interior moisture to condense on the underside of the panel. We strongly recommend installing Therma-Guard Reflective Insulation directly under the steel sheets during installation. Therma-Guard reflects 97% of radiant heat and acts as a complete thermal break and vapor barrier, preventing condensation buildup.
-
Yes. Metal panels can be installed over existing asphalt shingles by running 1x4 wood purlins horizontally across the roof at 24-inch centers, anchored through the shingles into the roof rafters. This creates a level strapping deck and air cavity for the steel sheets. Always check local building codes prior to installation.
